Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (LTAC MS/Tele RN - Nights)
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights
- Start Date: ASAP
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (will consider 1+ year but 2 years preferred)
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: As needed
- On-Call Requirement: Yes (2 on-call shifts OR 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks)
- Floating: Floating within scope to lower level of care based on critical staffing needs is expected
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
- Pending License: Accepted if obtained before starting
- Attendance Policy: More than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review/cancellation
- Testing: Must pass arrhythmia and medication tests on the first day
- Fit Test: Shaving may be required to pass onsite fit test
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required (AHA or AHA RQI acceptable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all candidates (AHA or AHA RQI acceptable)
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Cardiac Arrhythmia and Medication Dosage Calculation tests on first day; two attempts allowed
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for RNs
- State License Verification: Primary source verification required
- NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required
Required Experience & Competencies
- Minimum 2 years RN experience preferred (1+ year may be considered)
- Must be able to pass medication/pharmacology competency exam within 1 year of start and update annually
- Must pass arrhythmia and medication tests on first day of orientation
- Floating within scope of practice expected
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (Qgold, Tspot preferred)
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B) or approved exemptions
- Drug testing within 60 days of start (10 panel + Oxycodone + Marijuana)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
- COVID vaccination (Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form)
- Respirator medical clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and state-specific searches
- References: 2 references within 1 year of start (Qualivis requirement)
- Employment application required

- Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
- Must comply with on-call policy for holiday coverage
- Facility has an attendance policy for travelers
- Candidates must be able to pass all required exams and tests by the second try
- Floating may include working in lower acuity units within traveler’s skillset

- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this role
