Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm), rotating day/night shifts
• Shift rotation may be adjusted based on hospital operational needs
• Must work at least every other holiday
• Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication exam; passing scores required

Required Experience

• Minimum 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Minimum 18 months permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Current Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience totaling at least 18 months, including 1.5 years of recent experience within the last year
• Minimum of 18 months total travel experience
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Modules include onboarding and safety training; must be completed before clearance to start
• Medication and ECG competency exams during orientation with required passing scores (SafeMedicate 90%, ECG 80%)
• Candidates with gaps in employment over 6 months may need to repeat modules

Additional Requirements

• References: 2 professional references from employment within 1 year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application with at least 3 years prior work history including 2 years clinical acute care in a similar area
• Annual skills checklist required

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, comfortable with rotating 12-hour shifts, and meeting comprehensive health and compliance requirements.
