Respiratory Therapist

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Columbus, Georgia
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• 8-week contract
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Locals accepted

Patient Population

• Infants to geriatrics
• Primarily adult RRT, with pediatric intubated patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
• Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients

Preferred Qualifications

• Pulmonary function testing (spirometry testing)

Work Setting / Responsibilities

• Level 2 trauma center
• Interventional stroke certified
• Level 3 NICU
• NICU serves as the regional transport resource
• Manages noninvasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial lines, oxygen management, patient education, arterial blood gases, capillary blood gases, and line draws

Schedule / Assignment Details

• Every other weekend
• Floating required within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
• No call
• RTO maximum: 7 days
• Must work major holidays that fall during the assignment, per facility policy

Compliance / Start Requirements

• Full compliance required to start on time
• Background check must be complete before start
• Photo ID required
• Diploma required for RRTs
• Education verification required
• Skills checklist required within 12 months and updated annually
• Work history verification required
• 2 clinical references required
• Physical exam required within 12 months of start
• TB questionnaire required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 12 months of start
• Drug screen required within 60 days of start
• Flu vaccine or declination required
• Color blind testing required
