Job Overview

• Location: Charleston, West Virginia
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12; weekdays, every other weekend, float
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Pre/Post Cath Lab experience

Schedule Notes

• Every other weekend is required
• First-time travelers are accepted if experience requirements are met
• Holiday time-off requests should be limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
• Blocked schedule requests are not guaranteed

Clinical Details

• Adult and geriatric patient populations
• 39-bed unit
• Typical ratio is 1:5; may increase to 1:6 or 1:7 if staffing changes
• Can be floated within scope if needed
• Required drips: heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, nitro
• Preferred but not required: cardioversion, TEE, thoracentesis, bone marrow biopsy, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, paracentesis

Compliance / Pre-Start Items

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption is required during flu season
• COVID vaccination is not required
• Driver’s license and Social Security card are required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray is required
• Tdap is required
• Drug screen is required
• Annual fit testing is required
• Annual skills checklist is required
• One manager, supervisor, or charge nurse reference is required
• Specialty-specific skills checklist is required

• Orientation is held every other Thursday
• Parking is free for travelers
