Labor and Delivery

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Seattle, Washington
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 48 hours per week
• High-risk, high-volume L&D with 4 ORs
• 31 rooms and 31 beds
• Average daily census: 15
• About 500–600 deliveries per month

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Antepartum experience
• Post Partum experience
• Able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• CIRCULATE
• Functions as Baby Nurse during delivery and continues newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• EPIC experience
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Unit Details

• Float required to Post partum / Antepartum
• May float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Pre-approved time off is case by case
• Works every other weekend and holidays as needed

Clinical Notes

• Midwifery clients, private OBs, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinics are part of the patient mix
• Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate are used in the unit
• Newborn care includes eyes, thighs, assessment, and Vit K injections
