Operating Room RN
Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Charleston, South Carolina
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12s, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
- First-time travelers accepted
Schedule
- On-call required, up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
- Up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
- At least one holiday period required
- Floating within scope and between like units/sister facilities is required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Operating Room experience
- Operating Room experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Radiation Badge
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Facility Notes
- Level I trauma center
- Teaching facility
- Magnet hospital
- 21 operating room suites
- RN team is trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures
Additional Considerations
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, depending on unit needs
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis within 60 miles
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Hurricane season assignments may include emergency response duties

- 2 clinical references required
- Employment application/resume required
- Skills checklist required for the applicable unit
- Work history verification required for the last 3 clinical employers
- South Carolina state exclusion list required
- Physical exam required
- Fit test required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter
- Tdap required within 10 years of start or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 90 days of start
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Drug screen required within 90 days of start
- COVID vaccination documentation or declination required
- Flu vaccination documentation or exemption required during flu season
- Hepatitis B documentation required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation required
- Color blind testing required
- Orientation modules must be completed before start
- Badge photo required before start
- Radiation exposure attestation required if the radiation badge requirement applies
