Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D) - Travel Position

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Labor & Delivery specialty for a travel assignment in a high-volume Emergency Department (ED) at a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center. The unit serves a diverse, multi-cultural community and is recognized for teamwork and a welcoming environment.


Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Unit: Emergency Department (ED)
  • Number of Beds: 101
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
  • Staffing: Techs available for cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks on days and nights
  • Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
  • Documentation System: Cerner
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; scheduling meets department needs
  • Floating Policy: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Required Qualifications

  • License: Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
  • Certifications (must have before start):
    • ACLS
    • BLS
    • PALS
    • TNCC
    • CPI
    • NIHSS
    • ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years as a nurse in specialty (RN)
    • At least 1 year experience in an Emergency Room (ER) setting
    • 2 years’ experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
  • Preferred: Previous experience with HCA Healthcare system
  • Skills:
    • Teamwork mentality
    • Ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
    • Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
