Registered Nurse - Hospice (Travel)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview
- Role involves providing home hospice care, traveling by personal vehicle between patient appointments (mileage reimbursed at the federal rate).
- Patient ratio approximately 1:15.
- Work primarily with hospice patients in a home care setting.
- Use of electronic medical records system (Home Care Home Base).
Typical Responsibilities
- Assess patients and manage pain.
- Provide education and support to patients' families.
- Perform documentation required for hospice certifications.
- Function as a self-sufficient hospice case manager.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of hospice experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS and CPR certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in a home care setting
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between patient homes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in home health nursing.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Approximately 36 hours per week.
- Scrubs required as dress code.
- Potential for weekend and on-call shifts, though backup call is infrequent.

- This is a home hospice nursing role requiring travel by personal vehicle within the assigned county.
- Candidates without hospice experience will not be considered.
