Job Summary
- Provides comprehensive sleep disorder evaluation and treatment, including in-center and home sleep apnea testing
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and provides patient and family education
- May provide general oversight of other sleep center staff
Required Qualifications
- Polysomnographer experience within the last year
- 1+ years of experience in a sleep lab
- Associate degree in polysomnographic technology or completion of a certificate program in polysomnographic technology
- Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
- American Board of Sleep Medicine
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
- Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for sleep testing and perform PAP interface fitting, desensitization, and education
- Review orders, patient history, and supporting documentation for testing appropriateness
- Perform equipment calibration, data quality monitoring, cleaning, and disinfection
- Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events using accepted guidelines
- Perform MSLT and MWT procedures
- Support quality and performance improvement initiatives
