Job Summary

• Evaluate and treat patients of all ages, modifying plans of care as appropriate.
• Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.
• Design and adjust plans of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
• Communicate with referring providers regarding patient progress and treatment recommendations.
• Position is in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient transfers with assistance as needed (bed, chair, floor).
• Use safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce injury risk.
• Treat patients and colleagues with dignity, empathy, and respect.
• Evaluate clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes.
• Perform examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to patient complaints.
• Screen patients to determine therapy service needs and effectiveness.
• Use and monitor support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines.
• Complete annual education as required for compliance with hip and knee replacement program standards (if applicable).
• Evaluate impairments related to orthopedic and neurologic conditions.
• Establish plans of care based on functional deficits and patient goals.
• Conduct objective testing for range of motion, strength, and daily functional tasks.
• Complete daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR.
• Apply tape for stabilization, facilitation, or inhibition of movement.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis.

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday through Friday
• 8 hours per day (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM)
• 40 hours per week

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
