Job Details

• Unit: Intermediate Care Unit - Telemetry
• Shift: Days
• Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance completion
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call: Yes
• Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
• Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days
• Guaranteed Hours:

  • 36 hours/week for 3-12 hour shifts
  • 48 hours/week for 4-12 hour shifts
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Criminal Background Check (7-year search, including statewide and nationwide checks) updated within 6 months
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (quarterly updated)
• Education verification of highest nursing degree (no pending at start)
• Fingerprinting per Illinois Department of Public Health requirements (for long-term care or rehab float assignments)
• Professional license primary source verification and NURSYS verification
• Unit-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exam (annual updates)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive drug panel (annual renewal required)
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (with yearly TB questionnaire)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
• Fit mask testing (N95 respirator) with annual renewal
• Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, dress code policy, and regulatory compliance education (annual updates)
• Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Employment application and professional references (two required, supervisors preferred)
• Skills checklist specific to unit (including oncology if applicable)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be willing to work every other weekend and be on-call as required.
• Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs.
• Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel assignment.
• No block scheduling available.
• Return to office restrictions limit time off to no more than 7 days.
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
