Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, primarily 4x10 hour shifts (7:30 AM – 8:00 PM)
- Flexibility to work alternate schedules such as 2x12s & 2x8s or 5x8s
- No weekends or holidays required
- Call shifts available to pick up
- Bi-campus coverage between two hospital campuses
Job Description
- Position requires coverage at two campuses within the facility system.
- Guaranteed hours with no weekend or holiday shifts required.
- Orientation available every Monday with start dates ASAP.
- Scrubs provided (Misty Green OR scrubs).
- Charting system: Epic.
- Parking fee applies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Connecticut.
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
- Active ARRT Radiography (R) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver’s license or state ID matching legal name required on first day.
- 7-year criminal background check within 12 months, including multiple national and state-level checks.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Foreign equivalency education evaluation and diploma required for internationally educated candidates.
- Verification of highest education level required; official transcripts may be requested.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required.
- Annual TB questionnaire required.
- Immunization or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (or declination within 1 year)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- COVID vaccination series preferred but not mandatory.
Training & Certifications
- Must complete facility-specific training modules and attestations, including but not limited to:
- Fire Safety
- Language Services Training (if applicable)
- Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment
- Mobile Heartbeat Alarm (exceptions apply)
- Stroke Education (exceptions apply)
- CLABSI Prevention
- Preventing Pressure Injury
- Patient Transportation with Oxygen
- Pyxis ES MedStation
- Baxter Pump Interoperability
- Patient Bedside Rounding (exceptions apply)
- 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for Radiology Tech)
- Chaperone Policy Training
- EPIC training/testing may be required or offered depending on prior experience.
- Color Blind Testing required for all candidates starting on/after 8/2/2024 (minimum 80% score).
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months (minimum 85% score).
Work History & References
- Must provide a 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days.
- Verification of employment for the last 7 years required (attestations not accepted).
- One supervisor reference within the past year required for certain specialty units (not applicable here).

- RTO (Return to Office) restrictions: absences longer than 7 days require approval.
- Locals are not accepted for this travel position.
- Background check hits and license issues require facility approval.
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center with 1,567 staffed beds.
