Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide care in Labor and Delivery, including:
- Performing vaginal exams
- Assisting in vaginal deliveries
- Circulating in cesarean section deliveries
Start IVs and draw blood
Assist with stabilization of newborns post-delivery using Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) skills
Recognize and respond to complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
Shift options: Night or Day, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
May consider straight day shifts

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

Registered Nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery
Comfortable with vaginal exams, deliveries, and newborn stabilization
No explicit minimum years of experience stated, but must be competent in required skills
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Additional Information

Two professional references required (within 3 years) for travel or acute care roles
Facility will provide first week’s schedule and badge photo requirements
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Workplace Violence Prevention training completed onsite during orientation for applicable units
Cardiac Procedure Education and Competency Assessment required for telemetry units (if assigned)
