Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Rochester, New York
• Alternating 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts
• 13-week contract
• Local candidates are not accepted; must live more than 75 miles away
• Patient population includes complex care medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients
• Unit requires handling a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg
• Float required
• Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Experience in Charge roles
• Experience with Epic

Skills / Clinical Experience

• MS/Tele and telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Pacemakers: temporary and permanent
• Feeding tube care and management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care/management
• Phlebotomy
• Peripheral line care/management
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs
• Heparin protocols
• Ortho trauma
• Total joint replacements
• Surgical drains
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Nasal cannula
• Oxygen face masks
• Portable oxygen tank
• Tracheostomy management
• Isolation precautions
• Wound care/Wound Vac
