Job Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Setting: Inpatient hospital
- Coverage Areas: Orthopedics, neurology, trauma, post-surgical units; may include ICUs or general floors depending on candidate preference
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 3 shifts per week, 10 hours per day (must include Saturday and Sunday; third day flexible)
- Workweek: 30 hours
Required Qualifications
Education
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy required for those licensed after 2016
- Those licensed prior to 2016 are exempt from the doctoral degree requirement (grandfathered under prior licensure rules)
Licensure/Certification
- Active Illinois Physical Therapy License
- BLS (AHA) certification
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care setting
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft software
- Ability to evaluate patients’ physical and functional status, establish therapy goals, formulate treatment plans, observe and document patient status
- Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and treatment team members
Additional Information
- Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
- Orientation includes 12 non-billable hours
- Local rate adjustments apply for clinicians living within 50 miles
- Call-off policy allows up to 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty
