Travel/contract role in Springfield, Illinois
13-week contract
Day shift: 5x8 hours, 6:45 AM–3:15 PM
40 hours per week
Weekend coverage: 1 per month
On-call required: 1 per week
Floating may be required within skill set
Block scheduling is not available
First-time travelers are not accepted
Local candidates are not accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Time off requests must be reviewed and approved by the manager

Bariatric laparoscopic-assisted cases
General surgery: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, inguinal/umbilical hernia repair, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, mastectomy, partial/total thyroidectomy, Whipple
Neurology: cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion
Orthopedics: arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, closed reduction of fractures, open reduction of fractures
Plastic surgery: free flap microvascular
Transplant: organ donation
Urology: cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy
Trauma: amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, motor vehicle accident with multiple injuries
Emergency management: code response, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia
Equipment/instrumentation: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables
Professional skills: blood product administration, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol/time-out procedure, urinary bladder catheterization
