Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Quincy, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Weekly hours: 36
- Target nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:6 (occasionally 1:7)
- Every other weekend required
- Float as needed
- Block schedule can be partially accommodated
- Must specify preference for 36 or 48 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Compliance & Documentation
- Government-issued photo ID (2 forms of ID required)
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, education verification, sex offender registry, and national criminal checks (must be within 30 days of start)
- Education verification (diploma or transcripts acceptable)
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Competency exams with minimum passing score of 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score, including unit-specific exams
- OSHA mandatory training, updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific computer-based learning modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Completion of various facility-specific forms including emergency contact, employee health, non-discrimination, confidentiality, code of conduct, compliance, mandated reporter status, and system access requests
- Physical exam within 1 year (system requirement) and within 30 days (facility requirement)
- Photo for badge (headshot, JPEG format)
