Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Springfield, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (6:45 AM - 5:15 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Unit Type: Operating Room in a Level II Trauma Center (Short-Term Acute Care)
• Caseload: 60-70 cases per day
• Specialty Focus: High acuity ortho, neuro, general trauma, vascular, endovascular/hybrid, GYN/uro, ENT/plastics, eyes, robotics
• Equipment: DaVinci Robotics (4 active robot rooms), Doppler, Ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, Video Systems, Lasers, Various Stapling Systems, Hana and Jackson tables, Neuro Beds with Attachments, Cryoablation
• On-Call: Yes, up to four 8-hour shifts per 4-week cycle
• Weekend Requirement: To be determined
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
• Orientation: Held bi-weekly on Mondays; start date ASAP with 4 weeks from offer for compliance

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Trauma experience
• Orthopedic surgery experience with 2 years at level 1-2 acuity including total joint procedures
• Neurosurgery experience with 2 years at level 2 acuity including cranial procedures
• Experience in vascular surgery
• Experience in endovascular/hybrid surgery
• Experience in gynecology/urology surgery
• Experience in ENT/plastics surgery
• Experience in ophthalmic surgery
• Robotic surgery experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including SSN trace, criminal, federal, and state-specific searches as applicable
• Education verification or acceptable transcripts/diploma
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (N95 fit testing onsite if required)
• Drug testing within 30 days of start (specific panels required)
• Immunizations or declinations required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved declination/exemption during flu season
• TB screening: Negative IGRA or 2 PPDs within 1 year or negative chest x-ray if positive TB history, plus annual TB questionnaire
• Respiratory safety clearance required for onsite candidates, updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and quizzes with 100% score prior to start
• Review and sign facility policies including workplace violence prevention, masking, personnel restrictions due to illness, and others as required

This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with strong trauma and specialty surgical experience who are comfortable in a fast-paced Level II trauma environment and have prior travel contract experience.
