Required Qualifications

Iowa or compact RN license
BLS certification
1 year of unit experience

Unit Details

Adult med-surg/ortho unit
Patient mix includes total joints, shoulder replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, IV infusions, dementia, oncology, fractures, sepsis, pneumonia, CHF, and substance use-related diagnoses
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
Charge nurse is present each shift
Patient care techs are available at a 1:10 ratio
Unit has monitors at the main nurses station

Floating

May float to PCU and behavioral health

Orientation

First week is classroom orientation, followed by one 12-hour shift on the unit

Additional Notes

Candidates must be flexible and self-directed
Artificial nails are not allowed in patient care areas
Driver’s license is required at submittal for radius verification
RTO must be submitted upfront and additional RTO will not be approved
