Registered Nurse (RN) - IMC (Intermediate Care)

Location

Marquette, Michigan (Central region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula)

Employment Type

Travel assignment
Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit and Facility Overview

24-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with Level 2 ICU capabilities
Specialty areas include Open Heart program, Cath Lab, Neurosurgery, Level II Trauma center, and CRRT programs
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients in IMCU
Equipment used: Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, PrismaFlex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, ventilators, BiPAP, high flow oxygen
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Patient population includes post-open heart surgery, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, septic shock
Positive team player personality fit preferred

Work Schedule and Requirements

Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Weekend hours: every other weekend
No scheduled call; may be placed on call if census drops
Must be willing to float on a rotation with other travel nurses

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Additional Information

Dress code: scrubs in galaxy, royal, or navy blue
Unacceptable attire: hoodies and open-toed shoes
