Role Summary
Intermediate care/float pool role supporting patients across IMCU, step-down, Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU settings. Typical patient ratio is 1:2, and staffing ratios will not exceed 3:1.
Patient Population / Clinical Focus
- Complex withdrawal syndromes, including opioid use disorder requiring continuous drips and alcohol withdrawal using the MINDS protocol
- Hypertensive urgencies when stable
- Diabetic ketoacidosis with close monitoring and insulin infusion
- Excludes patients with active seizure, hypertensive emergency with end-organ threat, altered mental status, positive pressure ventilation, dialysis needs, arterial lines, or continuous Bair Hugger use
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 2 years of experience in the clinical specialty
- At least 2 years of RN experience
- Active Pennsylvania or compact RN license
- Basic Life Support certification

- Bachelor’s degree
