RN Medicine Specialty

Location

  • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts

Role Overview

  • Hospital-based registered nurse providing care for patients with a range of health problems
  • Assigned to a group of patients and responsible for documenting responses to treatment, monitoring patient status, administering medications, and coordinating care
  • Assists with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and communicates care plans and discharge information to patients and families
  • Willing to precept new RNs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oklahoma
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Med Surg experience

Skills

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
  • Some computer skills
