OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Tracy, California
• Day shift: 4x10 hours
• 40 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• On-call required, including overnight, weekends, and holidays, with a 20-minute response time

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High school diploma or GED, or graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, or military training as a scrub technician

Role Summary

• Prepares the sterile field for surgical operations
• Sets up sterile instruments, assists with gowning and gloving, and drapes patients for surgery
• Passes instruments and supplies, holds retractors, and anticipates surgeons’ needs during procedures
• Supports department operations through supply distribution, equipment maintenance, testing, and setup
• May perform specific procedures and help orient other staff to the department

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred for RN positions

Additional Notes

• General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment is expected
• General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is listed
