Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry Nights

Job Details

• Shift: Night (3 shifts of 12 hours each; 18:45 to 7:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float: Within service line and between two nearby locations
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Locals Accepted: Yes, within 75-mile radius (local rate applies)
• On-call: Not required
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week for 3-12 hour shifts; 48 hours/week for 4-12 hour shifts
• Start Date: Biweekly starts, 3-4 weeks per compliance tier
• RTO Restrictions: 7 days off within 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
• Recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (quarterly)
• Education verification of highest nursing degree (cannot pend at start)
• Fingerprinting required for assignments at or floating to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
• State-specific exclusion and sanction list checks for Illinois
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (must not expire during assignment)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test (N95) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health documentation:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination (with unit-specific exemptions)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/30 - 04/01)

Certifications and Training

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Not required for this unit
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
• Unit-specific competency exams required annually (Oncology competency exam required for Med Surg-Oncology unit)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) if applicable per unit
• Regulatory compliance education and HIPAA acknowledgment must be completed annually
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
