Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery/Postpartum RN

Location: Ithaca, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care within the Maternal Child Health department.
• Collaborate with unit leadership and follow nursing scope of practice guidelines relevant to Maternal Child Health (AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN).
• Assess patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex.
• Use person-centered care to develop and prioritize care plans involving patients and families.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in clinical decision-making and problem-solving.
• Perform technical nursing skills competently and stay current with policies and procedures.
• Act as a resource to peers and facilitate coordination with other disciplines and services.
• Labor and Delivery experience is required; postpartum experience is preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York.
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• NRP or STABLE certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Preferred Experience

• Postpartum nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• The assignment is a long-term travel assignment lasting approximately 13 weeks.
• Shift is primarily overnight.
