Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Coordinate nursing care for patients with behavioral health issues.
Participate in patient and family teaching.
Administer medications and treatments.
Utilize EMR systems, including Meditech.
Serve as Charge Nurse.
Work 8-hour rotating shifts with weekend and holiday availability required.
No floating to other departments.
Unit has 12 beds with a team nursing model.
Dress code: clean and professional attire.
Orientation includes assignment to a mentor.
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii.
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Experience in Charge Nurse roles.
BLS certification.
NCI or other crisis prevention training.

Additional Information

Shift schedule includes 8 and 12 hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Nurse-to-patient ratio follows a team model.
