Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Labor & Delivery unit with 19 patient rooms, 6 PACU rooms, 6 triage rooms, and 3 L&D ORs
Day shift staffing example: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
Night shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 7-9 RNs, 1 CST
Patient ratios typically 2:1; 1:1 for complicated patients
Equipment includes FHR monitors (Novii and GE), fetal scalp electrodes (FSE)
EMR systems used: CPN and Meditech

Job Responsibilities

Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients, postpartum patients, and high-risk antepartum patients
Perform vaginal and c-section deliveries
Deliver care through nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Direct and coordinate all nursing care on the unit

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
Acute Care experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN
