Overview

Level III NICU role caring for sick neonates
May float to the Well Baby Nursery
Unit has 41 beds
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1; may be tripled in low-acuity cases
No call required
Weekend coverage is preferred but not required
Holiday coverage is not required
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
NRP
BLS

Clinical Scope

Conventional ventilators
High-frequency jet ventilators
High-frequency oscillator
CPAP
High-flow nasal cannula
Nitric oxide
All aspects of NICU care except surgical and cardiac
