Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on Med/Surg Telemetry unit with potential to float to related units including Emergency Department.
• Work 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (day or night) with rotating shifts possible to meet operational needs.
• Shifts:

  • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Must work at least every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum 1.5 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Orientation & Onboarding

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
• Modules include mandatory training videos and tests; skipping videos will lock out the candidate.
• Onboarding process may take multiple days; candidates must complete all modules before clearance to start.
• Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background).
• Background checks including fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required within 48 hours of contract signing and updated annually.
• Fingerprinting must be completed under nursing code 4723.09; facility will conduct additional fingerprinting onsite.
• Education verification and employment application with at least 3 years prior work history (including 2 years clinical acute care in similar area).
• Skills checklist and competency exams required annually.
• Baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) required at orientation with remediation and retake opportunities if needed.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to float to related units caring for similar patient populations.
• Facility reserves the right to rotate shifts as needed.
• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID at all times.
• Candidates must comply with all health and safety documentation and immunization requirements.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
