Job Description
- Outpatient Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) role focused on pediatric patients (newborn to 21 years old).
- Pediatric experience required; NICU experience is not required.
- Only accepting RRT credentialed candidates (CRT not accepted).
- Must be able to perform Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT).
- Role involves floating to all outpatient facilities.
- Independently perform cardiopulmonary function tests and procedures including:
- Spirometry
- Plethysmography
- Diffusing capacity (DLCO)
- Simple pulmonary stress test (6-minute walk)
- Exhaled nitric oxide testing
- Metabolic testing
- Impulse oscillometry (IOS) airway resistance
- Aerosolized pentamidine therapy
- Methacholine challenge
- Nitrogen washout
- Provide non-critical respiratory care including patient assessment, aerosol therapy, patient education, equipment and airway management.
- May serve as a departmental team leader overseeing clinical area operations, facilitating new equipment implementation, and maintaining supplies and schedules under supervision.
- Participate in care planning and suggest alternatives to achieve clinical outcomes.
- Integrate emotional, psychosocial, educational, and developmental needs of patients and families into care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
- Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience
- Recent Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients
