Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR) setting
• Circulate complex cardiac, general OR, and vascular cases
• Case types include CABG, TAVR, LVAD, Impella, Valve surgeries, Ascending/Descending aorta, Heart & Lung Transplants, etc.
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
• On-call required: 5-8 calls per month including weekends
• Holiday call may be required
• Facility may call off traveler 1 shift per 2 weeks (pay period)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR) experience
• CVOR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest X-ray if prior positive
• Annual TB questionnaire completion
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccines with boosters if low/negative titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccines with boosters if low/negative titer)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)

Facility and Orientation Details

• Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
• 820 staffed beds
• Electronic charting system: EPIC
• Parking permit required with a $20 registration fee for garage use (additional fees may apply for other parking)
• Orientation modules and first day instructions provided; must be completed prior to start or traveler will be sent home
• Passport-style badge photo required before start (frontal view, solid light background, business casual attire)
• During hurricane season (June-November), employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams

Additional Notes

• Local radius rule: 60 miles
• Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
• All required documents (driver’s license, social security card, E-Verify attestation, background checks, certifications, health documents) must be submitted and verified prior to start
• Radiation badge process may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start without it on site
• Candidates with facial hair are encouraged to shave for fit testing or provide their own PAPR device
• Strict adherence to certification expiration rules: no certifications expiring within 30 days of start accepted
