Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Must be willing to float within 5 hospitals within skillset.
Block scheduling is not allowed.
Required to pass a Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing the contract (only 2 attempts allowed; must be taken on a PC, not iOS devices). Failure to pass results in contract cancellation and denial of rehire.
Scrubs are provided by the hospital.
Expected to maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio; may be assigned to higher volume facilities.
One winter holiday and one summer holiday shift required.
First-time travelers accepted but not preferred.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Experience maintaining a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in Labor and Delivery.
Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal history check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable).
NURSYS verification for RN license.
Physical exam within the last 12 months.
Fit mask test completed at designated Occupational Health within the first week of assignment (no outside fit tests accepted).
Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year of start; if positive, chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer or declination accepted)
- Varicella
10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months of start (updated annually).
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31 prior to flu season.
Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better).
Latex questionnaire.
Two professional references within the last 2 years.
Employment application and updated skills checklist (annually).
Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (New Jersey candidates).

Additional Notes

Must complete orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
Medication and pharmacology competency exams required as applicable.
Color blind testing within 1 year of start.
Dysrhythmia test required for this role and must be passed within 72 hours of contract signing.
Candidates must be prepared to float among multiple hospital locations within the system.
No local rate pay available.

This position requires strong clinical skills in Labor and Delivery nursing, flexibility to work across multiple hospital sites, and compliance with extensive credentialing and health requirements.
