Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Med/Surg Telemetry experience for a travel contract position. This role involves working 12-hour shifts on a rotating day/night schedule (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm). Shift rotation may be adjusted based on operational needs.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience totaling at least 1.5 years, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Current Ohio RN license or compact state license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Additional Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday.
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety exam during orientation.
• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background checks including fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) must be completed and updated annually.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings required: Tdap, TB test or chest X-ray, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, flu vaccination (or approved exemption), drug screening, and eye exam.
• Two professional references from within one year of start date required.
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding modules prior to start.
• Pass/fail competency exams on medication administration and ECG interpretation during orientation.

Shift Details

• 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week (3x12's).
• Rotating day/night shifts with possible variability to meet hospital needs.

Important Notes

• Candidates must have permanent experience in the specialty before travel assignments.
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; results required before contract extension.
• Orientation includes competency testing with required passing scores.
• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules on a computer using Google Chrome.
• Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this or similar facilities may need to repeat orientation and modules.
• Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines and mask fit testing are accepted but require agency and facility approval.
