Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Rochester, New York
• 13-week assignment
• Day or night 12-hour shifts: 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required, if needed
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local RN candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Floating required within skillset

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP
• Experience with ventilator management
• Experience caring for CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients
• Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience caring for pediatric spinal cord injury patients
• Experience with Epic

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy, including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP
• Ventilator management
• CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care
• Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Adult and pediatric ED emergency care, including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
• Isolation precautions
• Triage
• Pediatric spinal cord injury

• Ratios: 1:5
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• All emergency-type diagnoses
• Special equipment includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
