Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Columbus, Ohio
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Role focus
- Provides comprehensive care to neonates in a Level III NICU
- Cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
- Manages respiratory distress, glucose management, and neonates requiring surgery or cardiac interventions
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in NICU Level III and Level IV settings
- Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Proficiency in gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
- Expertise in infection control measures and IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management
- Experience with arterial line management
- Experience with central line care
- Oversight of ventilator settings and adjustments (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
Preferred
- Prior experience at Nationwide Children’s Hospital will be given special consideration
Additional notes
- EPIC is used for documentation
- Pyxis is used for medication administration
- SBAR communication is used
- The role includes arterial line management, central line care, neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions, and ventilator management
- Candidates with pending fingerprint results may be allowed under the facility’s attestation process
