Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Self-scheduling is used for core staff; travelers are added in
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must be within 50 miles of the facility
• Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity

Clinical Details

• ICU setting with 33 beds and an average daily census of 16
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2–3 for adults
• Common patient types include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance use, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• RNs are expected to titrate drips
• Common drips include cardiac, insulin, and sedation
• RNs must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
• Floating may include PCU and occasionally MedSurg
• RNs may need to troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilator

Orientation and Compliance

• One shift of unit-specific orientation
• Pass/fail exam during orientation; a score of 90% is required to pass
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• If called back in while on call, arrival is required within 30 minutes

Scheduling Notes

• Up to 2 holidays within the contract period are required
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 days or less for a 13-week contract
• Additional time off will not be approved after submission
