MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician)

Assignment length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Medical Lab Technician (2 years of experience)
Medical Lab Technician experience within the last year
ASCP
Associate of Arts degree in lab science or equivalent training/experience
Experience in a(n) Hospital setting

Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in MT, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field
If not, an Associate of Arts Degree in Lab Science with training or experience
Computer proficiency in word, spreadsheet, database, email, and EPIC

Role Summary

Perform clinical laboratory procedures, both manual and automated
Complete routine and specialty lab tests including blood bank, immunology, microbiology, hematology, microscopy, and chemistry
Receive specimens including blood, urine, and bodily fluids
Perform quality assurance and instrument maintenance
Coordinate the work of phlebotomists and clerical staff as required

Schedule

Various shifts, with evening and night coverage
Flexibility is required for changing coverage needs

Additional Details

12 hours of non-billable orientation during the first work week
Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
Scrubs required; no color preference
