Labor & Delivery RN

Location

  • Newark, Delaware

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • Long-term assignment
  • 36 hours per week

Shift

  • Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Schedule expectations

  • Every other weekend
  • Holidays required
  • Floating required to areas within acuity

Required qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Delaware
  • Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Unit details

  • Labor & Delivery unit
  • 21–30 beds
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3

Common patient care and procedures

  • Labor
  • Induction of labor
  • Cesarean section delivery
  • External cephalic version
  • Fetal demise and intrauterine fetal death
  • Epidural management
  • Magnesium sulfate administration
  • Pitocin titration
  • Insulin drips

Floating areas

  • Antenatal
  • High risk
  • OB triage
  • Postpartum

Charting

  • Cerner, transitioning to Epic

Additional notes

  • Scrubs are provided
  • Overtime and incidental overtime are not authorized
  • Meal breaks are expected to be taken as scheduled
