Physical Therapist - Rehab Inpatient
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Health
Shift: Day (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Job Summary
- Evaluate and treat patients of all ages, modifying plans of care as appropriate.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.
- Design and adjust plans of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans.
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
- Perform examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to patient complaints and history.
- Document clinical findings and care in accordance with clinical process policies and regulatory standards.
- Use and supervise support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and medical teams throughout the rehabilitation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient transfers safely with assistance as needed.
- Demonstrate safe body mechanics to reduce injury risk.
- Utilize standardized outcome measures to accurately reflect functional performance.
- Modify approaches based on patient behavior and performance.
- Provide supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and rehabilitation technicians.
- Communicate patient status, activity/transfer recommendations, discharge disposition, and equipment needs clearly with the medical team.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Illinois
- Physical Therapist with 0 years of experience
- Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
Additional Information
- No prior travel experience required.
- Workdays are Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
