Medical Unit Days

Overview

• Contract role in Janesville, Wisconsin
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 6:30A–7P
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• May be required to float to other units

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Med Surg (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act
• Document according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute patient plans of care based on individualized patient needs and physician or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
• Use critical thinking related to patient safety and patient experience and escalate appropriately through the chain of command
