Unit Information

Unit: 3rd Medical, Shoals Building
Number of beds: 36
Patient ratios: 1:6, occasionally 1:7 during surge
Unit staffing: Unit Secretary (day shift only), LNA’s on both shifts
Equipment: Telemetry
Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
Scheduling: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; every other weekend and rotating holidays
Floating policy: Float to same level of care
Patient experience: Bedside shift report, hourly safety rounding, personal connections
Dress code: Scrubs (any color)
Self-scheduling available, with leadership oversight to balance schedule

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification
IV certification

Pros

One of the best group of girls I've ever worked with, both nurses and doctors. The doctors actually treat you like a coworker and not just someone who is way beneath them. I didn't love the hospital itself but the staff made every shift worth it.

Cons

Cost of living was wayyyy too high and the pay was way too low to be able to stay there for more than one contract. I would've kept extending if I could've afforded it. They also use meditech which is TRASH.
