Location

Farmington, New Mexico

Job Details

Travel assignment
13 weeks
Day shift: 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM
40 hours per week
On-call required on weekends and evenings
May float to PreOp and/or Endo

Unit Overview

Phase I Recovery RN role in the PACU
Adult patients with mid to high acuity
7-bed unit
Patient ratio: 1:1 to 1:2
Specialty focus includes recovery for general surgery, ortho, neuro, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, and robotics

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (3 years of experience)
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
Trauma experience

Preferred Experience

Recovery experience with pediatric dental patients

Additional Notes

Cerner is used in the unit
Mindray equipment is used in the unit

Pros

Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.

Cons

It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
