Registered Nurse - Pain Management

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Work Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
Start Date: ASAP

Job Summary

Provide independent nursing care in pain procedures, pre-operative, operating room (OR), and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) settings. Deliver routine and complex care while managing clinical situations, delegating tasks appropriately, and addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers.
Meet leadership competencies related to self, others, and team leadership.
Fulfill weekend, on-call, and floating requirements.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS Certification
Minimum 1 year of experience in pain management, pre-operative, operating room (OR), and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nursing, with PACU experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Additional Information

This is a full-time travel assignment.
Weekend, on-call, and floating duties are required.
