Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location

Lewiston, Maine
Level 2 Trauma Center
190-bed hospital providing 24/7 Emergency Care (Trauma Level III), Cardiovascular, Cancer, Orthopedic, Women’s & Children’s Health, and Primary Care services
Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
Patient ratio: 1:4
Equipment includes ultrasound, bladder scanner, neuro tele computer, Care Aware handheld devices
Electronic Health Records: Omnicell, EPIC, SBAR
Teleneurology support for stroke in cooperation with a major hospital
No Pediatric ICU; pediatric patients are transferred out

Contract Details

Travel assignment
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Weekend hours: No guaranteed weekends off, but scheduling aims to be fair
No call requirements
Travelers required to float to ED holding area
No travel pairs accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (all required)
CPI certification
Ability to interpret dysrhythmias
Experience caring for ventilated patients
