Job Description
- ICU RNs will float to all ICUs, step-down units, IMCU, and Emergency Department for ICU holds/borders.
- May also float to Women’s and Family units; orientation provided for these areas.
- Women’s and Family units handle patients similar to MICU and RICU except for CRRT and ECCMO cases; includes care for preeclampsia, eclampsia, hypertensive moms, hyperemesis, and postpartum hemorrhage.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios will not exceed 1:3 in any assigned unit.
- Assignments are typically given 24 hours in advance but may change mid-shift to float to other units or hospitals.
- Responsibilities include assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care under physician direction, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare team members, and directing nursing support staff according to nursing standards and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
