Overview

• Location: Normal, Illinois
• Schedule: Days, Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM
• Hours: 40 per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

• The Echo Technologist performs technical procedures, patient care, and workflows in the echocardiography laboratory.
• The role includes full-range cardiac diagnostic testing and assisting physicians and sonographers with echocardiographic exams.

Required Qualifications

• Echo Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist
• Associate's degree in sonography
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
• Demonstrate acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
• Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
• Document studies and charges in Epic and complete preliminary information in Xcelera system for physician reading.
• Administer contrast when needed and not contraindicated.
• Perform all forms of Echo testing, including Exercise Stress, Dobutamine stress, Echoes, Pediatric echoes, and Tranesophageal echoes.
• Cross-train to other divisions of CV Services.
• Participate in call rotation during the week and on weekends.
