Histology Tech

Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (16 weeks)
Shift: 06:00 AM – 02:30 PM

Job Summary

Perform standard and specialized laboratory procedures preparing tissue, biological materials, and body fluids for microscopic examination by pathologists.
Handle specimen processing including embedding, sectioning, staining, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Maintain accurate records, slide files, and tissue blocks.
Assist in research procedures and orientation/training of new personnel.
Follow established safety policies and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
Stay current with new techniques, procedures, and equipment through continuing education.

Required Qualifications

Histology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
Experience in an acute care setting.
Education: High School Diploma with two years of laboratory experience, or an Associate of Science degree with two years of experience in a Histology laboratory.
