Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Description

• Work in an acute progressive care unit with a high volume of Trauma and GI post-operative patients.
• Experience required with Level 1-2 trauma patients.
• Trauma/general surgery post-op patient care experience required.
• Must have experience with abdominal surgeries, tracheostomies, and flaps.
• Proficiency needed in managing foley catheters, surgical drains, surgical oncology, wound vacs, ostomy care, ports and PICCs, TPN, and lipids.
• Telemetry experience required.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience required.
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have Level 1 trauma experience.
• Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience working with Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma patients
• Trauma experience
• Experience with surgical oncology
• Foley catheter management experience
• Surgical drain management experience
• Wound VAC management experience
• Port and PICC line management experience
• TPN management experience
• Telemetry experience
