Oncology Nurse

Assignment Overview

Travel/contract role in New Orleans, Louisiana
13-week contract
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
36 hours per week
First-time travelers welcome
Every other weekend coverage
Float requirement
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4

Unit / Patient Population

Hematology
Medical oncology
Bone marrow transplant
Gynecologic and surgical oncology
7-bed positive pressure wing for bone marrow transplant and acute leukemia patients
Bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Oncology (2 years of experience)
Oncology experience within the last year
Hematology experience
Surgical Oncology experience
Bone Marrow Transplant experience
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Experience with Epic

Additional Notes

Travelers may be assigned to an emergency team during facility emergency events and may be expected to remain on site or join the relief team as directed
Annual and pre-start compliance items are required, including background screening and several health/documentation verifications
