NICU Registered Nurse
Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in Columbus, Ohio
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- 36 hours per week
Clinical Setting
- Level III NICU
- Care for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
- Patient population includes neonates with respiratory distress, glucose management issues, and those needing surgical or cardiac interventions
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Experience in NICU Level III and Level IV settings
- Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Proficiency with gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
- Experience with infection control measures and IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized neonatal care
- Administer medications using the Pyxis medication system
- Document in EPIC
- Use SBAR communication
- Manage arterial lines and central lines
- Support neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions
- Oversee ventilator settings and adjustments, including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
Additional Notes
- Candidates with prior experience at Nationwide Children’s Hospital will be given special consideration
- Parking is available through agency permit options at additional cost
